All-University Fund Drive exceeds goal
By Dawn Pauli, OU Writer
The 2005 All-University Fund Drive (AUFD) exceeded its $200,000 goal and raised $208,194 toward Oakland University’s comprehensive campaign, “Innovation and Opportunity – The Campaign for Oakland University,” United Way and the Black United Fund. More than 470 donors, including faculty, staff and retirees, contributed to the university’s most ambitious internal campaign to date.
“I am truly touched that in a year when we all were compelled to donate to so many other worthy causes, the Oakland community remained loyal to our great institution and stepped up to the challenge,” said Susan Davies Goepp, vice president of University Relations “This is one of the reasons I am so proud to be part of the OU family.”
This year marked the fifth straight year in a row the AUFD goal was exceeded. Of the $208,194, $193,773 was raised for Oakland, $12,136 for United Way and $2,285 for the Black United Fund.
Leading this year’s AUFD campaign were four co-chairs, John Klemanski, professor and chair of political science; Sheryl Klemanski, assistant vice president of Academic Affairs; Jean Ann Miller, director of the Center for Student Activities; and George Preisinger, assistant vice president of Classroom Support/Technological Services, and more than 50 team leaders from across campus.
An appreciation reception for all donors to the AUFD is set for Monday, Jan. 30, from 3:30 to 5 p.m. in the Oakland Center Gold Rooms. Donors will receive invitations to the reception through campus mail.
