OU men’s basketball player Rawle Marshall will take part in the 17th Annual Mountain Dew College Slam Dunk and Three-Point Championships at Washington University in St. Louis, Mo., March 31.

The championship, which is recognized as the tip-off of Final Four weekend, brings together the nation's best collegiate dunkers and men's and women's three-point shooters to compete in a series of events designed to test their skills.

The championships will be aired on ESPN on Thursday, March 31, at 9 p.m.; Saturday, April 2, at 3 p.m.; and on Thursday, April 7, at 2 p.m. It also will be shown on ESPN 2 Sunday, April 3, at 12:30 and 2:30 p.m.

Marshall, a senior, will compete in the slam dunk portion of the championships. He led the NCAA Tournament game-winning Grizzlies in a number of categories throughout the 2004-05 season including scoring, blocks and steals.

Marshall received national attention during the NCAA Tournament opening-round game against Alabama A&M when he provided a thunderous dunk over an A&M player that made ESPN’s top 10 highlight reel.

The slam dunk and three-point championships are judged by professional athletes including track and field star Jackie Joyner Kersee, former NBA player Spud Webb and St. Louis Rams players Torry Holt, Issac Bruce and Steven Jackson.
