Registration now under way for AP Summer Institute
Oakland University’s School of Education and Human Services is offering the nationally recognized Advanced Placement Summer Institute in July 2005. The early enrollment deadline is Wednesday, March 30.
Endorsed by the College Board, the five-day workshop is for experienced Advanced Placement (AP) teachers and teachers who want to learn how to instruct AP courses. Sessions will be held at Oakland University July 10-15, July 17-22 and July 24-29.
This year’s Institute offers 38 sessions for new and experienced AP teachers and provides an opportunity to gain command of a specific AP subject. Courses include biology, calculus, computer science, English, social studies, Spanish, U.S. history, European history, world history and more. New teachers may enroll in special sessions focusing on fundamentals of the advanced placement program. Experienced teachers will learn about the latest trends in their content areas.
Enroll by March 30 to receive the early registration rate of $465. After March 30, the cost is $500. May 30 is the final registration deadline.
Participants have the option to take the seminar for two university graduate credits at a cost of $707.50. Grant funding may be available through the College Board AP Fellows Grant Program.
