OU to host emergency preparedness conference
Oakland University’s Center for Executive and Continuing Education is hosting the Emergency Preparedness for Business Continuity conference on Friday, Dec. 10, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Elliott Hall.
With today’s reliance on technology, even a brief power outage will cause personal and business loss. Natural and manmade disasters are even more devastating. This conference was designed in response to last year’s unprecedented blackout and will focus on informing businesses/employers of local community emergency response activities. It will enable business leaders to improve preparedness programs for personal safety and business preservation. Key leadership in emergency preparedness and response from our community has teamed up to provide a full day of interactive sessions.
Attendees will learn local and regional emergency response plans, methods to maintain operations during a large-scale emergency, strategies to safeguard your employees and work sites, procedures to communicate with clients and vendors, and options to secure computers and online business operations.
The cost is $195 per person. For more information or to register, call (248) 370-3128 or visit the Center for Executive and Continuing Education Web site.
