Jewish life in America commemorated with film series

Oakland University’s College of Arts and Sciences is commemorating 350 years of Jewish life in America through a special film talk series, “The Representation of American Jews in Hollywood Films.”

The final film in the series is “Expanding the Mainstream: Woody Allen’s Jewishness,” which takes place Friday, Dec. 3, at noon in the Oakland Center Gold Rooms.

Andrea Eis of OU’s Art and Art History Department will investigate various manifestations of Jewishness in Woody Allen’s work and the style with which he nonchalantly moved Jewishness into a new category of character development.

Admission is free, but reservations are requested. For more information or to reserve a seat, contact Sandy Dykstra at (248) 370-2650 or dykstra@oakland.edu.
