OU to celebrate Native American Heritage Day

Oakland University will celebrate Native American Heritage Day on Thursday, Nov. 18, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Oakland Center Fireside Lounge.

“This is a great opportunity for students to learn more about the Native American culture and be engaged in activities that are traditional to the first inhabitants of our country,” said Jean Ann Miller, director for the Center for Student Activities. “Events like this combine learning with social opportunities for students and staff to participate in and develop a deeper appreciation of the heritage of different cultures.”

The activities planned include jewelry bead making, a Native-American storyteller beginning at noon, and traditional Native-American refreshments.

For more information, contact the Center for Student Activities at (248) 370-2400 or csa@oakland.edu.
