Sullivan competes at US Olympic Trials
Oakland University swimmer Chris Sullivan (Rockford, Mich.) failed to move out of the preliminary heats in three events — the 50-meter freestyle, 100-meter freestyle and 100-meter butterfly — at the U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials.

He finished 31st overall in the 50-meter freestyle with a time of 23.53, missing the top-16 to qualify for the semi-finals by 0.29 seconds. In the 100-meter freestyle, he finished third in his heat with a time of 51.48, which placed him 24th overall, missing out on a top-16 finish that would have placed him in the semifinals. His time in the 100-meter butterfly was 55.96, placing him 38th overall, missing a berth in the semis by 1.18 seconds.

Sullivan, who will be a senior at OU in the fall, qualified for the U.S. Olympic Trials by posting qualifying times at the Summer Sizzler meet hosted by the Nashville Aquatic Club in Nashville, Tenn, in June.
