The OU Campus Community members are reminded to exercise considerable caution in accessing, storing and distributing confidential information used to file income tax returns.

The Oakland University Police department has a website page on Identification Theft

Campus community members are advised to report any indication of suspicious or fraudulent activity to appropriate authorities as soon as possible.  See the steps listed below;

1. Make a police report.

2. Report any OU identity theft to the Help Desk. 1-248-370-4357 Help Desk Contact Form

3. Contact the Social Security Administration 1-800-269-0271

4. Contact the IRS Identity Protection Specialized Unit 1-800-908-4490
