Microsoft is planning to release a Windows 9 technology public preview sometime between the end of September and the beginning of October.

The return of the Start menu is certainly at the top of the list, and the awkward Charms bar for desktop users may go away.  Introduction to Cortana, the voice-activated digital assistant similar to Google Now and Siri is expected.

Microsoft is expected to release Windows 9 in the spring of 2015.

Support for Windows XP will end on April 8, 2014. There will be no more security updates or technical support for the Windows XP operating system. It is very important that customers migrate to a modern operating system so you can receive regular security updates to protect their computer from malicious attacks. Security updates patch vulnerabilities that may be exploited by malware and help keep users and their data safer. PCs running Windows XP after April 8, 2014, should not be considered to be protected.
