Suspect identified in ongoing investigation

This past Monday, the Oakland University Police Department (OUPD) posted flyers in various areas of the campus identifying a "person of interest" in an active investigation. Subsequently, the investigation resulted in another subject being identified as the actual suspect in an assault which took place on January 11, 2014.

The OUPD will continue its investigation and we anticipate submitting a request for formal charges to the Oakland County Prosecutor's Office early next week.

The subject has been interviewed by officers and informed that he is barred from coming onto campus until further notice.
