New OUAA Scholarship Program changes
The Oakland University Alumni Association (OUAA) Board of Directors is pleased to announce exciting changes to the OUAA Scholarship program. Beginning in the fall of 2014, the OUAA will offer renewable Legacy Awards of $12,000 each ($3000 per year for up to four consecutive years). Also, the OUAA is introducing Legacy Transfer Awards for $6000 each ($3000 per year for up to two consecutive years).
Only Legacy students are eligible to apply for these awards. Legacies are defined as students whose parent, grandparent, sibling, aunt or uncle received a degree or academic certificate from Oakland University. Incoming freshmen who meet the additional eligibility criteria found online at oualumni.com/ouaascholarships may apply for the Legacy Award. Transfer students who meet the additional eligibility criteria found online at oualumni.com/ouaascholarships may apply for the Legacy Transfer Award.
The OUAA will continue to offer up the Returning Alumni Award, the Frances C. Amos School of Business Administration Alumni Affiliate Award and the Thomas A. Yatooma School of Engineering and Computer Science Alumni Memorial Award. Each of these awards is $3,000, non-renewable.
The Returning Alumni Awards are available to alumni who return to OU to complete a graduate degree program. The Amos and Yatooma Awards are available to upperclassmen from the school of business administration and the school of engineering and computer sciences, respectively.
The deadline for applications for the Legacy Awards is Friday, December 6, 2013. The deadline for applications for all other awards, including the Legacy Transfer Awards, is Monday, March 3, 2014.
