Detroit Jazz Festival to feature Oakland musicians

Once again, the Oakland University Jazz Band will round out the summer with a performance at the world-renowned Detroit Jazz Festival.

During the event, student musicians will perform alongside some of Oakland University's finest jazz faculty under the direction of Assistant Professor Miles Brown.

"OU Big Band is excited to perform at the Detroit Jazz Festival," Brown said. "It's a wonderful opportunity for our students to perform at such a high-profile jazz festival."

The band will appear on the Mack Avenue Waterfront Stage from 11:30 a.m. until 12:15 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 1. All events at the Detroit Jazz Festival are free.
