|What is the deadline for applying?
The application deadline for submitting the AMCAS application is November 17. The deadline for submitting the supplemental application is December 31. Visit our admissions timeline web site

|Do you require a supplemental application? Is there an additional fee?
Screened applicants will be invited to submit a supplemental application. The nonrefundable supplemental application fee is $75. We encourage applicants to review our desired criteria for selection

|How many letters of recommendation are required and who should write them?Applicants
should submit a minimum of three letters of recommendation (maximum of
five). If your premedical advising office provides a committee letter compiling feedback from multiple sources, this letter will count as two of your three required letters of recommendation. All letters should be submitted through AMCAS Letters of

well and can speak to your qualifications for entering the field of
medicine. It is a good idea to include at least one faculty member who
has gotten to know you during the course of your studies. Letters from

|How will I know if I will be interviewed for admission?
Completed applications, including both the AMCAS and supplemental applications, will be reviewed for interview eligibility on a rolling basis. Applicants selected to interview will be contacted via email to set up an interview date. Interviews will take place from August through March. We send all communications via email, so please include a valid and regularly monitored email address on your AMCAS application.(return to top)

We do not offer individual appointments with potential students at this time. However, we do offer prospective student webinars and Preview Days year-round. We encourage you to bookmark the OUWB Admissions

|Do you accept transfer students?
The OUWB School of Medicine only accepts applications from potential third year transfer students when positions are available. There are no current openings for transfer students.(return to top)
|I am an international student. Can I apply?
Applicants must be U.S. citizens, Canadian citizens or permanent residents of the United States. Preference is given to U.S. citizens and permanent residents. Applicants who did not attend U.S. or Canadian schools should complete at least one year, preferably two, in residence at an accredited college in North America.(return to top)
|What are the desired admissions requirements for the OUWB School of Medicine?
- Undergraduate science GPA of 3.00 or higher and overall GPA of 3.20 or higher
- MCAT score of 26 or higher (minimum of 24 required to receive supplemental application)
- Meaningful medical activities (including volunteer work, shadowing, etc)
- Service to others and to the community
- Teamwork and leadership skills
- Excellence in an activity or area of interest (sports, research, or other endeavor) at a local, regional, or national level
- Evidence of intellectual curiosity and a commitment to life-long learnings

|Is a bachelor's degree required for admission?
While not required, it is recommended that a baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution be completed prior to enrollment.

|What prerequisite courses are required?
The following coursework should be completed at an accredited college or university in the U.S. or Canada:
- 2 semesters of General (Inorganic) Chemistry with lab
- 1 semester of Organic Chemistry with lab
- 2 semesters of Biology with lab
- 2 semesters of Physics with lab
- 2 semesters of college-level mathematics, or 1 semester of college level mathematics and 1 semester of statistics
- 1 semester of Biochemistry
- 2 semesters Social/Behavioral Sciences (sociology, psychology, anthropology)

|Does the OUWB School of Medicine accept online courses for prerequisites?
Since many prerequisite courses include a laboratory requirement, online courses will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

|Will OUWB accept community college classes for prerequisite coursework?
Yes, the OUWB School of Medicine will accept prerequisite coursework taken at a community college. However, students are encouraged to take additional upper level science courses at a four-year institution in preparation for MCAT and medical school coursework.(return to top)
|Can I use AP and/or CLEP credits as my prerequisites?
Advanced Placement (AP) credits are acceptable so long as they appear on college transcripts and are verified by AMCAS. It is highly recommended, however, that students take additional advanced courses in these areas. College Level Examination Program (CLEP) credits may not

|I have taken the MCAT twice. Will you consider the most recent total score, the highest total score, an average of the scores, or the highest sub-scores between the two tests?
We will not be dismissing, averaging, or combining scores. All MCAT scores received from AMCAS will be considered.
We will be using a holistic review process and are interested in many factors, including an applicant's academic and leadership skills, meaningful medical experiences, extra-curricular activities and level of commitment. While test scores are important, they are only one of the many factors we'll be considering.(return to top)
|What type of grading system will the OUWB School of Medicine use?
For the M1 and M2 years, we will utilize a three-level grading system: Pass, Fail, and Honors. For the M3 and M4 years, we will utilize a four-level grading system: Pass, Fail, High Pass, and Honors.(return to top)
