Are there career services available to alumni? 
The Office of Career Services is available to all Oakland alumni. You may register at no charge for Career Services online recruiting service. It is recommended to have your resume critiqued before putting it online. For more information, contact Career Services at (248) 370-3250 or careers@oakland.edu.

The GrizzLink online alumni community also provides a career center with career and educational resources, and posting and searching job opportunities. Visit the GrizzLink Career Center to begin your career search.

Can alumni access the library? 

OU alumni receive borrowing privileges at Kresge Library, a $50 annual savings! Access to the library's website and online catalog is available to everyone remotely, while e-journals, e-books and research databases are available from computers in the library. Can visitors access the OU (Grizznet) wireless network when on campus?
Unfortunately, the OU wireless network isn’t accessible when visiting campus; however, please visit Kresge Library for use of personal computers.

Do alumni get to keep their Oakland e-mail address? 
As an alum of Oakland University, we really want to stay in touch with you, and we ask that you share your personal e-mail address with us so we can communicate about exciting alumni news and events.

Due to licensing limits, high cost and low use, the university cannot provide an OU e-mail address to alumni after one year from graduation. 

Instead, we really want to communicate with you using an e-mail address that you actively use. Stay connected and update your records today!

Do alumni receive discounts to athletic events? 
OUAA members can now get the best seats in the house at the O'rena!  Through a special partnership, the OUAA and OU Athletics are proud to offer the Gold Zone, a section exclusively for alumni — the biggest fans of Golden Grizzlies Basketball!  The Gold Zone is located in section E4 and E5, right behind the Golden Grizzlies bench!

Does Alumni Engagement host reunions?

How can I network with other alumni?
Join the OUAA throughout the year at a variety of social and educational events for opportunities to network with fellow alumni. How do I request my official OU transcript? 
To request official Oakland University transcripts, print the Transcript Request Form and provide all requested information including signature, which is required by federal law. Official transcripts may be picked up in two working days or mailed within five working days. 

Current students may log in to SAIL with your NetID (e-mail) user name and password. Select Student ServicesStudent Records, then Request Official Transcript

How often is an alumni directory published?
The last alumni directory was published in 2010. Our goal is to produce a new directory every 5 to 10 years.

Is there an alumni discount on items at the University Bookstore?
As an OU alum, you receive a 10 percent discount on certain items purchased at the University Bookstore. To receive your discount, simply inform them of your alumni status.

Am I an Alumni Association member?
As a graduate of Oakland University, you are recognized as a member of the OUAA. The OUAA not only keeps you connected to your alma mater, but also provides services and benefits like career support and networking activities, volunteer programs, and regional and local events to enhance your involvement with OU after you graduate.

How can I get a replacement Diploma?
To order a replacement diploma, please complete the Diploma Reorder Request Form and mail it to the Academic Records Office at 102 O'Dowd Hall, Rochester, MI 48309-4401.

Can I join the Alumni Association if I have not graduated from Oakland University?
You must be an OU graduate to become a member of the alumni association. We will continue to honor “friends of the alumni association” and “grandfather” their member status to reward their past support and commitment to the association.

Can my company post job openings on the OUAA website?
Companies can post job openings to the Career Services website as well as the Alumni Engagement GrizzLink online community. For more information or to submit a job posting, please visit GrizzLink.

Can you remove my name from your mailing lists and/or e-mail lists?

Mailings:
We can code your record in our database to reflect that you do not wish to receive any mailings from Oakland University. Please be aware that this will impact all mail from the university, including the Oakland University Magazine. If you have questions or wish to be more selective in your request, please contact the Office of Alumni Engagement at (248) 364-6130 or toll free at (877) 445-ALUM (2586) or e-mail
OUAA@oakland.edu. Also, it is helpful if you retain the piece of mail that prompted your phone call, so you can reference the department or office from which it was sent, especially if the piece reached you in error.

How can I become more involved with OU through volunteer opportunities with the Oakland University Alumni Association?
If you are interested in volunteering for OUAA events throughout the year, please visit the OUAA Volunteer website. Can you help me locate a former classmate?

While we are unable to share personal information without permission (your OU alumni information is kept confidential), we would be happy to assist you. Please send an e-mail to OUAA@oakland.edu and give us your classmate's name, including maiden name (if applicable), year graduated and last known address or city. We will try to locate the person and can forward your name, address, telephone number and/or e-mail address so the person can contact you.

How do I send information for Class Notes?

Class Notes can be sent to us anytime you have "new" news. The topics vary widely and include, but are not limited to, career accomplishments, new jobs, honors received, personal accomplishments, engagements and marriages, births and death notices. Please limit your news to things that have happened in the past year. Note that the information you send may be edited due to space limitations.

There are several ways to send Class Notes information. You may visit the Guestbook page on OU's Alumni website, e-mail the information to OUAA@oakland.edu or mail it to the following address:

Does the OUAA offer scholarships?
OU alumni have raised more than $1 million for the OUAA Scholarship Program. Each year the alumni association awards scholarships totaling more than $90,000 to OU students. Scholarship applications are available online starting in January and selections are made in March for the following fall and winter semesters.

How do I gain access to OU's golf courses?
Access to Katke-Cousins Golf Course and R&S Sharf Golf Course is available through the OU Golf and Learning Center. There are several membership options available for golfers. Contact the Oakland University Golf and Learning Center at (248) 364-6300 for more information.

We print all the information we have up until the last possible deadline for each issue. If your information misses the deadline, please look for it in the next magazine.
