Ann V. Nicholson Apartments


The Ann V. Nicholson student apartment complex consists of six Tudor-style buildings and a community house. There are 32 two-bedroom units, 96 four-bedroom units and three-bedroom handicap-accessible units. Some of the amenities include full kitchens with appliances, furnished bedrooms and living rooms, a washer and dryer in each apartment, and basic cable TV.

Students with junior standing (at least 56 credits) and be at least 20 years of age are eligible to reside in the apartments. Each resident also must be currently enrolled at Oakland University throughout the duration of the apartment contract.

Furnishings
Oakland University provides much of the furniture as well as other housing items for students who live in the Ann V. Nicholson student apartments.

Rent and Utilities
You can view the 2012-13 student apartment rates here.

Payments include all utilities as well as basic cable television, internet service, and garbage disposal. Following are details about specific utilities and services:

Cable Television
Basic cable is included in the rent for the Ann V. Nicholson Student Apartments. To access this service, you must have a cable-ready television with a coaxial cable. Satellite dishes are not permitted. 

Internet Service
Students living on campus who have their own computers can access the wireless local area network to connect to the university’s computer system, Internet, e-mail, discussion groups and other computer data resources.

Community House
The community house, located in building 4000, is the student lounge area for the Ann V. Nicholson Student Apartments. The community house has wireless Internet services, a wide-screen TV with cable channels as well as a DVD and VCR player, and two fireplaces. It overlooks the basketball and volleyball courts. The Ann V. Nicholson Student Apartments Manager's Office also is located in the community house.
