The School of Education and Human Services received a seven-year accreditation from Teacher Education Accreditation Council (TEAC) and the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) on October 23, 2013. The School of Education and Human Services' next accreditation visit will be under CAEP in Spring 2020. CAEP is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and is seeking US Department of Education recognition.

TEAC (Teacher Education Accreditation Council) fully accredited (June 2008), last visit (Spring 2013). TEAC has merged with a group called NCATE to form a new organization, the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation, or CAEP. Our visit from CAEP will happen in 2020.

Note: The timeline of how TEAC and NCATE (previous accrediting bodies) became Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP, a new accrediting body) can be found at: http://caepnet.org/about/history. As TEAC has consolidated into CAEP, the US Department of Education has withdrawn its recognition of TEAC - see attached letter. CAEP is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) as an accrediting organization and CAEP is seeking US Department of Education recognition as an accrediting body, however as indicated on the following CAEP website, this can be a lengthy process: http://caepnet.org/about/news-room/statements-press-releases/caep-answers-your-questions-on-recogniti. Until DOE formally recognizes CAEP as an accrediting body, SEHS accreditation information will appear to be outdated on their website.
