General Education

OU’s general education program is the basis of your undergraduate education and is a requirement for all majors. This is a core body of knowledge that all students study, setting the groundwork for improved critical skills and enriching opportunities upon graduation. The three-part structure complements every major, giving you a well-balanced, refined education.

The three-part structure includes:

  • Foundations: Writing and Reasoning
  • Explorations: Understanding the university, society and humankind
  • Integration: Solving real world problems
