Tuition and Housing Charges

Oakland University does not charge fees, only tuition, and if you live on campus, room and board. Tuition is assessed on a number of factors including your class standing, residency, number of credits enrolled and courses taken.  View the current cost of tuition, room and board.

Use the Cost Estimator to estimate your charges at Oakland University. Please note, if transfer credits added to your academic record change your class standing from sophomore to junior mid-semester, the tuition for the current semester will be adjusted from the lower level tuition rate to the upper level tuition rate. Semester account balances are due two to three weeks before the semester starts. Any new charges added to your student account (a class, meal plan, change from lower to upper-level, etc.) on or after established due date are due immediately. Access eBill to make a payment or enroll in a payment plan.

eBill

Statements will be sent electronically to each student's official OU email address — a paper statement will not be mailed. Tuition and university housing charges are generally due two to three weeks before the start of the semester. View payment due date and cancellation information on the Student Financial Services website.

Students who have not paid their student account balance in full by these dates will be canceled from classes with a 100% tuition refund. Students cancelled from classes for non-payment of their current semester charges will be able to re-register for classes, subject to space availability. In addition, students cancelled from classes for non-payment of a prior semester charges will be

able to re-register for classes, subject to space availability, once they pay the prior balance in full.

Housing Students: Students not registered for classes are ineligible for University Housing and will be canceled from a University Housing assignment. Students who re-register for 8 or more credits must contact University Housing to reapply for housing as space is available.
