| The Masters of Education in Teacher Leadership program fosters informal and formal leadership development through an interactive set of experiences that include sound theoretical and “best practice” knowledge, problem-based coursework and field-based experiences. |
Overview
- 32-credit program may be completed in two years using a cohort model
- Professor mentors will spend time in the schools with each of the teacher participants
- Data driven, action research, progressing developmentally from the teacher's classroom, continuing with colleagues and expanding to the building and organizational level

Minimum Admission Requirements*
- An undergraduate GPA of at least 3.0
- A teaching certificate
- Ready access to K-12 classrooms
- K-12 teaching experience
- Two letters of recommendation from individuals in a supervisory relationship to the applicant
- A statement of professional goals
- Communication skills commensurate with graduate-level scholarship.
- Students who are conditionally admitted to the program because of a lower GPA or lack of recommendations must complete a minimum of eight credit hours (EST 601 and one other core course) with a grade of at least 3.0 in each course.
*Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee admittance into the cohort program
