To attend Oakland University as a guest student, you must be in good standing at your home institution and must be enrolled at an accredited college or university.

Tuition rates below are for undergraduate guest students (summer 2013)
In-state — $372.75/credit hour
Out-of-state — $853.25/credit hour
Apply
- Complete Part I of the Michigan Uniform Undergraduate Guest Application Form.
- Bring your completed Guest Application to your home institution's Registrar Office for completion of Part II.
- Mail your application to: Oakland University, Office of Undergraduate Admissions, 101 North Foundation Hall, Rochester, MI 48309-4475. Please allow a minimum of five business days for Oakland University to process your Guest Application.
Guest students receive all advising from their home institution and are responsible for requesting that a transcript of grades be sent to the home institution after courses are completed.
Guest status is valid for one semester only. If you wish to attend more than one semester, a guest application must be filed for each semester to be attended.
Admitted
Once you are admitted to OU as a guest student, you should download an enrollment guide.
If you receive an error message while registering for a course, please contact the academic department offering the course. You can view a list of departments online at
oakland.edu/academics. You can also contact Registrar Services for assistance at (248) 370-3450 or visit them at 100 O'Dowd Hall
(find on map). Some courses may require specific prerequisites; a member of the department staff can verify that you meet the prerequisite and allow you to register.
Pay
Oakland will send an e-mail to your OU e-mail account when your bill is ready to be viewed and paid online at oakland.edu/ebill. You will need your SAIL ID and PIN to access the eBill system. The eBill home page provides a brief overview of your current account status, recent and past billing statements, recent activity on your student account and available payment plans. Payments can be made online through eBill, in person or by mail. Oakland University also offers a summer payment plan. Visit the Student Business Services website for more information on how to pay.

Depending on your home institution, you will fill out one of two graduate guest student applications.
- Students admitted to degree programs at institutions other than the Michigan institutions listed below should apply using the Graduate Guest Student Application.
- If you are admitted to a degree program at one of the following Michigan institutions, use the Graduate Guest Applicant — from an institution in Michigan.

Guest Students should consult their advisors at their home institutions regarding the ability to transfer specific credits to their programs.
