The Student Success Assistant (SSA) supports an expanding effort to improve students’ academic success, particularly for undergraduate students who reside on campus. In conjunction with University Housing staff, the SSA has also partnered with The Tutoring Center to provide information on tutoring, supplemental instruction, study skills and various academically driven programs and workshops. Students living on campus may be required to meet with the SSA if he or she has been referred for academic concerns, but are also encouraged to stop in for assistance if he or she is struggling on a particular assignment or course. To make this more convenient for residents, the SSA office is located in 441 Hamlin Hall.
For more information, please contact Michele Applebee at mlladisk@oakland.edu or by calling the University Housing Office at (248) 370-3570.
