Vivian Costello is the Rehearsal Director and founding company member of Take Root, a professional modern dance company in residency at Oakland University. Vivian is a 2013 graduate of Oakland University's B.F.A. program in Dance and was the recipient of the 2013 MaTilDa Award for Outstanding Dance Performance. This year, she was honored to receive the 2019 Alumni Achievement Award in Dance.
Vivian acts as Creative Director of Minty Photography, has a schedule full of incredible McEntire Pilates clientele and the highlight of her week is teaching Dance for Parkinson’s Disease. Throughout her dance career, she has performed nationally and internationally, but what resonates deeply within her is the importance of Take Root’s mission: Impacting lives through dance. Whether you are 5 or 95 years of age, dance can be a powerful and healing art form. Vivian strives to continue on a path of sharing her gifts and impacting as many lives as she can.
