Dr. Myung D. Choi is currently working in Exercise Science Program, School of Health Sciences at Oakland University as an assistant professor. He earned his Master’s degree in Exercise Physiology at Seoul National University, Seoul, South Korea; Ph.D. in Human Bioenergetics program at Ball State University in Muncie, IN and focused on lipid metabolism and insulin resistance in skeletal muscle. After his Ph.D., he pursued a post-doctoral fellowship in East Carolina University, focusing on microdialysis research in relation to lipid metabolism. Dr. Choi’s research interests currently focus on the regulation of local and whole body lipid metabolism both in adipose tissue and skeletal muscle tissue in sedentary overweight and obese humans before and after exercise training and nutritional intervention.
