Biography
Dr. Doherty received her Bachelors of Science degree in Physical Therapy from Northwestern University ; a Masters of Arts degree in Health Care Administration from Central Michigan University and a PhD in Anatomy from Michigan State University . She has also worked as professor and coordinator for the Physical Therapist Assistant Program at Delta College, and was the Chairperson for the Health and Wellness Division. Dr. Doherty is certified as an Ergonomics Assessment Specialist and co-authored a book on ergonomics titled, "Make Ergonomics Work for You." She developed the Comprehensive Oncology Rehabilitation Program at St. Mary's of Michigan and at Hills and Dales General Hospital, where she is currently treating patients. Her research focuses on cancer survivorship and treatment of the side effects caused from surgery, radiation, chemotherapy and hormonal therapies as well as cultural competency in treating cancer patients.
