Biography
Dave Andrews joined the OSH program faculty in 2010 as an adjunct faculty member. As a recent graduate of the Oakland University Master of Science in Safety Management, he enthusiastically engages students into the course and works hard to help each student succeed. Mr. Andrews received a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry also from Oakland University. He has also completed coursework in machine safeguarding, sprinkler system analysis, hazardous industrial processes, fall protection, excavation and scaffolding. 
 
Mr. Andrews has over 25 years experience in the fields of risk management, loss control and industrial hygiene. He has held numerous positions at Amerisure Mutual Insurance, ranging from loss control specialist to risk management specialist to loss control manager. 
 
Mr. Andrews provides consulting services to property and casualty national accounts specializing in workers’ compensation, hazardous chemicals and fire protection. Mr. Andrews is an OSHA Outreach Trainer, authorized to conduct both the 10- and 30-hour courses for General Industry and Construction.
 
Mr. Andrews has earned the nationally recognized designation of Certified Safety Professional (CSP) from the Board of Certified Safety professional as well as the Associate in Risk Management (ARM) from the Insurance Institute of America. He is also a member of the American Society of Safety Engineers, Greater Detroit Chapter.
