Biography
Dr. Hill joined Oakland University in 1995 as an adjunct faculty member. Professor Hill provides stellar leadership and exemplary management example to OSH students. His education includes a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Safety from Iowa State University and a Master of Science in Hazardous Waste Management from Wayne State University. He earned a Doctorate in Philosophy in Educational Leadership at Oakland University. Mr. Hill has authored over 25 articles on occupational safety; primary topics including construction safety and environmental. Professor Hill is editor and contributing author for the best-selling textbook, Construction Safety Management & Engineering.
 
Outside of OU, Dr. Hill is Vice President of Safety & Health Officer for ABB, Inc., North America. He has over 20 years experience in Occupational Safety, Health, and Environmental Sustainability.
 
Professor Hill currently serves on the Board of Directors for the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE). He is the 2010-2011 ASSE President, serving its membership nationally and internationally. He was named the Edgar Monsanto Queeny (National) Safety Professional of the Year in 1997. He received the Michigan Safety Conference Distinquished Service to Safety award in 2007. Dr. Hill has earned the nationally recognized Certified Safety Professional from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals.
