My professional career at Oakland University began in 2001 as an Admissions Adviser for the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. After four years in Admissions and completing my Master of Arts degree in Counseling, I advanced to the Center for Multicultural Initiatives office and worked as a Retention Coordinator. In 2006 I was promoted to the position of Assistant Director for the Center for Multicultural Initiatives. I served in this capacity for two years before accepting my current position, as the Advising Coordinator for the School of Health Sciences.During my graduate coursework, I was awarded the King-Chavez-Parks Future Faculty Fellowship.

As an Oakland
University alumni I received my
Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Development in 2009 and my Master
of Education,
College Student Affairs Leadership from Grand Valley State University in
2011. The start of my professional career began in 2011 when I accepted
the position as an Admissions Adviser in the Office of Undergraduate
Admissions. As an Admissions Adviser I had the opportunity of displaying
my
leadership skills by assisting with the implementation of recruitment
efforts and yield activities, in addition, to educating prospective students
on undergraduate majors, minors and degree programs at the university. Furthermore, I had the opportunity of gaining additional
experiences by interning in Grand Valley State University Career Center
and Grand Valley State University Padnos International Center.

Adrienne L. Spitzer, MA
Academic Adviser
I recently graduated from Oakland University. As a graduate student, I served as chapter treasurer and as member of the social committee for Chi Sigma Iota, an international counseling honor society. I gained experience working with undergraduate students by providing career counseling to undecided students, co-facilitating workshops and career counseling groups.Prior to starting as an Academic Adviser at Oakland University, I was a Program Administrator at The Community House in Birmingham.
