Enrollment Verification

Enrollment information is updated throughout the semester. Please refer to the Reporting Schedule for further details. The first update of the semester is typically submitted during the 3rd week of the month and will be available approximately the 4th week.  Students needing an enrollment verification sooner may submit a  Request for Letter Form  (Google form).

Please note: Zero (0) credit only enrollment is not considered official enrollment. Students enrolled in zero credit only classes will not be reported as actively enrolled. At least 1 credit hour is required to be considered actively enrolled in any given semester.

Oakland University has authorized the National Student Clearinghouse to provide degree and enrollment verification. To self-certify for enrollment or obtain degree verification:

1. Log into SAIL
2. Click on the four-square icon at the top left corner
3. Click on Menu
4. Click on Student Services
5. Click on Student Records
6. Click on Enrollment Verification
     (NOTE: you will be directed to the National Student Clearinghouse Student Self-Service website)
7. Select the service(s) you need:
  • Obtain enrollment certificates (for current or historical enrollment)
  • View all enrollment information on file
  • View a listing of companies requesting information about his/her enrollment
  • View specific information about your student loans 
If additional assistance is needed, contact the  National Student Clearinghouse.

Important Note:
W and G Status, the effective date range begins on the "Certified Date" and is continuous until another status is listed. The term dates will list the last semester, if applicable, but are not the effective dates. Any other status the term dates indicate the enrollment date range. This can be confusing, so we are available to discuss further with you or whomever you are submitting the enrollment verification or this letter can also be submitted.

Third Party Requests
Oakland University has authorized the National Student Clearinghouse to provide degree and enrollment verification. You may order a verification online with the National Student Clearinghouse.

Estimated Graduation Date
Also may be referred to as Anticipated Graduate Date or Expected Graduation Date

Estimated graduation date is required by the Department of Education for reporting purposes. It is calculated by a student's current program and class standing, and then additional years are added to estimate completion. Please see chart below for calculation years. When a student applies to graduate this date is updated to the actual graduation date.

Continuing education courses are not eligible for loan deferments and not reported to the National Student Clearinghouse.
