New Student Convocation will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 from 3:00-5:00 p.m. in the Recreation & Athletic Center.  The formal ceremony will take place from 3:00-4:00 p.m. in the O’Rena and the Fair will be held from 4:00-5:00 p.m.

Student Research Displays: 

The Student Organization, Academic & Service Fair will be located in the 3 Court Gym in the lower level of the Recreation Center.  We would like to include student research displays again this year during the Fair at New Student Convocation.  This year we are looking for both graduate and undergraduate research projects.  During the Student Organization, Academic & Service Fair, we aim to expose the new students and parents to the research opportunities available to students on our campus.  We hope you will encourage your student’s engaged in research, scholarship and creative endeavors to participate in this event to showcase their work and benefit the new students and their parents.  Researchers/participants may begin to arrange their tables beginning at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, August 31, 2011.  Displays should be set-up by 2:00 p.m. as we encourage everyone to attend the ceremony from 3:00-4:00 p.m.

For setup purposes we will need to know the size of your display and your technology needs (access to electrical outlets) by July 29, 2011.  Please fill out attached form Student Research Form and forward this information to Angelica Proffett (proffett@oakland.edu).

We are confident that the energy and enthusiasm present at the fair will motivate and encourage new students and parents to take advantage of all that OU has to offer.
