The President provides leadership and oversight for all aspects of the university, including academics, finance, planning, student affairs and enrollment management, advancement, athletics, government and community relations and other key areas. The Provost, vice presidents, and several other staff members report to the President. The President works closely with the Provost and vice presidents to ensure that the strategic direction and policies of the university are aligned with its mission. The President reports to the Board of Trustees and works with the Board in establishing policies to guide the institution. |

Activities include, but are not limited to, legislation, executive orders, and rules and regulations. In addition, the vice president works to influence the outcome of various executive and legislative actions by sharing the university’s interest to public officials and responding to their constituency concerns’ involving the university. |

He is responsible for establishing a clear and strategic direction for the university’s diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, and for creating new alliances with business and community leaders who seek our help on issues related to diversity and cultural competence. |

Zambardi manages the Office of General Counsel and Board of Trustees. The General Counsel's office also is responsible for the Office of Inclusion and Intercultural Initiatives, which addresses questions and concerns regarding equal employment opportunity and affirmative action in employment at Oakland University. |

The department provides analyses, appraisals, recommendations and evaluations of internal controls to assist members of the university in the effective discharge of their responsibilities. Findings are reported to the Board of Trustees and senior management. |
