The Upper Midwest Regional Ethics Bowl is one of 11 regional competitions where hundreds of students and teams across the United States and Canada compete for a chance to be one of the 36 teams to compete in the National competition held in late February.

Intercollegiate Ethics Bowl (IEB) gives students a chance to enter an academic competition that combines excitement and fun with an educationally valuable experience in the areas of practical and professional ethics. The competition focuses on a wide range of disciplines, including but not limited to, domestics and international business, engineering, journalism, law, medicine, and social work. Student teams demonstrate their ability to articulate the facts and ethical principles involved in the case and then present an effective argument on how the case should be resolved.

The Oakland University Ethics Bowl teams have been competing almost since the event's inception over 15 years ago. The OU team is sponsored by the Philosophy Department and coached by faculty members Mark Rigstad (PHL chair) and Lisa Campbell (COM/JRN, PHL). The Upper Midwest Regional Ethics Bowl is sponsored by the Center for Ethics.

All rounds will be held in South Foundation Hall, and the awards will be presented after in Room 1050 HHB.
