Master of Education in Educational Leadership
A New Cohort-Based Masters Program, Preparing Practice-Ready Leaders for the 21st Century

The Master of Education in Educational Leadership degree program prepares students for an elementary or secondary principalship. Through practice-relevant coursework and a mentored internship, students will expand their expertise and competence as teachers and future building leaders.

This program leads to a Master of Education degree and upon completion of the program, students are eligible to apply for Administrative (Principal) Certification offered by the State of Michigan.

Program Features 
  •     Coursework completed with a cohort of 12-15 people
  •     32 credits completed in less than 2 years
  •     Combination of face-to-face and online courses
  •     Mentored internship across the entire program
  •     Preparation of an online portfolio, appropriate for job-seeking
  •     Faculty with expertise in principal leadership
  •     Cohort coordinator teaches first and last course
  •     No fees beyond tuition. Financial aid and payment plans available.
  •     State-approved for Michigan Principal Certificate

Program Requirements and Course of Study

This program requires 32 credits, 4 of which are completed through a two-semester internship program. Graduates will prepare a web-based portfolio that addresses the ISLLC Leadership Standards. No grade below a 2.8 may be applied to the degree and an overall GPA of 3.00 must be maintained.
