The National Career Development Association’s CDF certification is an extensive, 120-hour program.  Instruction is personalized for your work setting and taught by certified instructors.  Originating at Oakland University, the credential was developed to provide standards, training specifications and credentialing for these career providers. Individuals who successfully complete the course requirements may apply for the Global Career Development Facilitator Certificate.   
 
What is a Career Development Facilitator (CDF)?
A CDF is an individual who works in any career development setting or who incorporates career development information or skills, working with students, adults, clients, employees or the public. 

Who Should Enroll?
Individuals who provide or will provide career services in business and industry, government agencies, schools, colleges and universities such as: career coaches, HR staff, job search trainer, career resource coordinators, or workforce development staff/managers.

CDF Certificate Cost: $1,065*
Price includes the student manual, assessments, handout materials and curriculum on DVD. Tuition and the application fee are included in the cost for in-state participants enrolling in the CDF course. Students may earn 12 NBCCs upon successful completion of the course.  *2013-2014 academic year rate, subject to change 

Non-credit Enrollment Refund Policy and Important Semester Dates
The $195 course pack is covered in the program cost and is non-refundable. The course pack includes the program binder, student manual, DVD, and assessments. Refunds may be processed at the discretion of the PACE department.

Upcoming CDF Training: May 2014 in Macomb County
We are currently planning to run a CDF cohort to begin at OU's Macomb County location in Clinton Township, MI in Summer 1 2014.  Please visit the "How to Register" tab or contact Daniel Arnold at arnold23@oakland.edu for more information.

Summer 2014 registration for the Macomb CDF program is now open.  
To register, please follow the steps below:
  1. Visit the PACE Registration Page.
  2. Enter CDF in the search box
  3. Select your desired course in the Search Results menu by clicking on the plus icon that appears when you hover the mouse over the course. Click “Add to Schedule Builder.”
  4. Click on the “Register” button on the bottom right of the screen.
  5. Log in (current or returning PACE students) or create an account (new students).
  6. Once you are logged in, you can proceed to payment to complete your registration.
Note: If you need to utilize third-party billing, we will need to work with you separately to create a purchase order and special registration code. You will not be registered until payment is received. Please email or call the coordinator directly so that we can get that process started for you.
