The University Professional and Continuing Education Association’s Central Region Conference is scheduled for October 18-20 in Detroit.
Oakland University, through the Office of the Provost and Professional and Continuing Education (PACE), is an institutional sponsor of this year’s event, which will be held at the Crowne Plaza Detroit Downtown Riverfront hotel.
For more than 100 years, UPCEA has provided higher education thought leaders and practitioners in the field of professional, continuing and online education a forum to network, collaborate, and connect with their peers about relevant content and best practices.
“Through years of collaboration with UPCEA, OU leadership was able to leverage the opportunity to bring the central region conference to Michigan” said Lori Crose, director of PACE and 2017 UPCEA Regional Conference Chair. “The time was finally right for OU to proudly host the event in Michigan and highlight the entrepreneurial spirit of Detroit. I am so proud that we are able to showcase our deans, faculty, staff and administrators through participation on the planning committee, participating on panels, pre-conference leadership presentations or providing their work through concurrent session presentations. We are looking forward to a vibrant and rewarding 2017 conference.”
The UPCEA Central Region, encompassing the broad swath of the United States between Ohio and Colorado, perfectly represents the juxtaposition of its member organizations’ educational values with the business, technology and educational innovation pushing the workforce and society forward. Each year, higher education leaders from the region collaboratively plan and implement this annual conference as a way to network and share learn higher education best practices with sister institutions.
