What do the mayors of Rochester, Rochester Hills and Auburn Hills all have in common?

Their love for Oakland University, of course. Mayor Rob Ray of Rochester, SBA ’05, Mayor Bryan Barnett of Rochester Hills, SBA ’98, and Mayor Kevin McDaniel of Auburn Hills, SBA ’02, are all proud OU alumni.

All three mayors are involved in a variety of ways across campus: mentoring, speaking engagements, and connecting with other alums and current students. They are also high-level alumni volunteers, including Mayor Barnett’s role as chair of the Alumni Association Board of Directors, and engage with OU in their official capacity representing their constituencies. These natural leaders showcase the strength of all proud OU alumni — commitment to community. OU alums are making a difference in their communities all around us. In fact, more than 60 percent of OU alumni remain in the metro-Detroit area after graduation. In no other way is this more apparent than in these three mayors and their commitment to the communities they serve and the university they love.
