Alpha Delta Pi adopted the Ronald McDonald House Charities in 1979. Ronald McDonald House Charities supports Ronald McDonald Houses in local communities, as well as funding grants to other not-for-profit organizations whose programs focus on children in need. There are 240 Ronald McDonald Houses in 25 countries, whose function is to provide comfort, care and "a home-away-from-home" for the families of seriously ill children who are receiving treatment at nearby hospitals.

Since adopting this charity Alpha Delta Pi has contributed over $2 million to this worthwhile effort. In addition to monetary support, many Alpha Delta Pi collegiate chapters and alumnae associations dontate their time volunteering at Ronald McDonald houses.
