Dr. Hranchook has earned two degrees from Oakland, completing a doctorate in nursing practice in 2014 and a Masters in the Science of Nursing -Anesthesia Track in 1993. Her research interests are in the area of anesthesia patient safety and quality improvement. Dr. Hranchook came to Oakland in 2011 after nearly 20 years of service at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. At Beaumont, she worked as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist and educator for the second largest operating room in the United States. While at Beaumont, she was Chair of the Anesthesia Department’s Education and Research Committee, member of the Quality Improvement team and taught student registered nurse anesthetists in the clinical area and classroom. Dr. Hranchook continues to serve in multiple capacities at the state and national level. She is the Director of District III for the Michigan Association of Nurse Anesthetists and is a member of the Closed Claim Research Team for the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA) Foundation. Dr. Hranchook also serves as an editor for the AANA’s International Student Journal. In addition to publishing numerous articles, Dr. Hranchook has authored five chapters in a variety of textbooks on the specialty of nurse anesthesia.
