Future Students

Basic Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
The application is available:

  • April 1, 2024 until June 1, 2024 for fall 2024
  • August 1, 2024 until October 1, 2024 for winter 2025

Basic BSN Application

Accelerated Second Degree BSN (ASD)
The application is available:
  • November 1, 2023 until January 15, 2024 for summer 2024
  • April 1, 2024 until June 1, 2024 for fall 2024
  • August 1, 2024 until October 1, 2024 for winter 2025

 Previous Nursing Credits
Any applicant who has been dismissed from a nursing program or has ever received two or more nursing course grades of B- or lower must first obtain approval from the SON to apply to the Basic BSN or ASD BSN track. 

This process consists of submitting  a letter of explanation regarding what events lead to substandard grades and what they have done to insure their success in the future as well as completing and submitting the Student Academic Standing Inquiry Form. Once the form and letter are submitted, the request will be reviewed by a SON committee. To obtain the Student Academic Standing Inquiry Form click here. The Student Academic Standing Inquiry Form can be completed by either opening the form within your OU email using DocHub, using Adobe Acrobat or printing it out. Once completed, submit the form to [email protected]. Applicants must be fully admitted to Oakland University before beginning this process.

Education Verifications

If you graduated from an undergraduate or graduate nursing program, please download and complete the SON Education and Graduation Verification Request Form

If you completed a Continuing Education LPN, PCT, or CNA program at the Riverview Institute or Focus Hope, please submit a request through this form.

Requests will be processed in the order they are received. Please submit one request only and allow up to four weeks for processing. Questions about your request should be directed to [email protected].
