Oakland University's 17th annual Keeper of the Dream Scholarship Awards Celebration Monday, January 19, 2009, at 11:30 a.m. Doors open at 10:30 a.m. Keynote address by Danny Glover, actor, producer and human rights activist

AFRICAN AMERICAN CELEBRATION 2009
Join us as we celebrate the past and present Journey of Black Economic and Political Empowerment through the many outstanding events during African American Celebration 2009.
African American Celebration 2009 begins Monday, January 19 at 11:00 am with a video tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The month long celebration closes on Thursday, February 19 at 12:00 p.m. with Destiny Fullfilled; A Toast to Black Empowerment, cohosted by the AAC committee and RED COW.

We are looking for students who want excitement! Who want to make a difference! Who want to be leaders and representatives of Oakland University! Discover how to become a student leader on campus and get paid for a job that allows you to make a difference. Learn how to become a CMI Peer Mentor, Orientation Group Leader (OGL), Resident Assistant, or Nightwatch staff member. All interested students must attend an information session. The next information session is Thursday, January 15 from 12-1 p.m. in the OC-Oakland Room. The application deadline is Friday, January 30 so don't wait! |

Martin Luther King Jr. Day-Classes Suspended.
January 20 Last day to: - drop a class(es) without a "W" appearing on their transcript for the Winter 2009 semester. - register and add classes for the Winter 2009 semester. - receive 100% tuition refund for students who are enrolled in 15-week courses.
January 21 Become an OU Star Information Session from 12-1 p.m. in the OC-Oakland Room.
January 23 Scholars need to have met with CMI staff and Peer Mentor by this date.
January 26 Become an OU Star Information Session from 5-6 p.m. in the Vandenberg Cafeteria.
January 30 OU Star application deadline.
