a communication from the ap assembly

Message from the President
And, we're back!

I can't believe it, but fall semester is already upon us! I hope that you have had a productive (and somewhat relaxing) summer.

The AP Assembly is already in full planning mode, and has a lot of wonderful programs underway. Throughout the year, we hope you will take advantage of the wide variety of social events, professional development opportunities, and chances to show your OU spirit that we have in the works.

Throughout the year you will be receiving updates from both the AP Assembly and the AP Association on noted "happenings" at the university. Watch for further editions of this newsletter, which will contain highlighted events, dates, and other important information. We hope that our new, streamlined communication plan will make staying up to date on all of the great opportunities the university has to offer easier for you as an AP.

I hope you are as excited about the upcoming year as I am. If you have any questions, or would like to become involved with the AP Assembly, do not hesitate to email me at mick@oakland.edu, or to call me at (248) 370-4696.

Here's to a great fall semester -- and go Grizzlies!

Jean Szura
President, AP Assembly

Mark Your Calendars for the Bike Share Rally
The Bike Share Rally is a FREE event co-sponsored by the AP Assembly and the Department of Campus Recreation. Teams will participate in a leisurely bike ride looping around the Upper Fields on Oakland's campus from 12-1 p.m. on Thursday, September 23.

All bikes will be provided by the Oakland University Bike Share Program. Each team will have one representative on the course at a time, and along the path of the loop there will be designated challenge checkpoints where team members will work together to solve a specific puzzle/test/riddle. Once each task is completed, a new team member will continue on the course with the bike until the next challenge checkpoint is reached.

Teams will consist of 4-10 people and can qualify for prizes. Food and drink will be provided, along with prize giveaways. The Bike Share Rally is not a bike race and is designed for fun, fitness, and the promotion of the Bike Share program. Register your team today!
