Still Time to Start Training!|
The sixth annual Brooksie Way Half Marathon, 10K and 5K is right around the corner on the campus of Oakland University. Learn more about this important community event, register to participate or volunteer! The event takes place on September 29, which is a particularly beautiful time of year in Rochester!
The July 4 holiday falls on a Thursday this year, and the University will be closed both Thursday and Friday. All benefit eligible employees that are required to fill out leave reports will need to use a personal or vacation day for Friday, July 5. See our official Holiday Schedule for more information.
Keeping Youth Safe
The university's Youth Protection Committee has been hard at work to ensure that the health, safety and welfare of minors remain the top priority of university-affiliated camps and other youth programs. All faculty, staff and volunteers involved in such programs should be familiar with youth protection protocols and guidelines. Helpful information is available at the new Youth Protection website.
|HAP Members to Receive New ID Cards
HAP is currently undergoing a system upgrade that will allow them to adapt to the changes coming next year to health care as a result of the Affordable Care Act. As a result of this system upgrade, new ID cards will be issued to all HAP members in July. The new cards will list your new HAP ID number, new group numbers and will no longer include PCP information. More information will be available in the coming weeks.
Flexible Spending Account Processing
Processing of Meritain flexible spending account claims for the first week of July will be delayed slightly due to the July 4th holiday. Payments will be delayed approximately 4 days.
Priority Health Coverage Information
As you may know, preventive care is covered at 100% for all members of Priority Health.
Those services that are defined as "Preventive" are very specific and are identified in the Preventive Health Care Guidelines found on the Priority Health
website. Please take the time to review the guidelines before visiting your PCP.
You may also want to view a one-page summary
describing the services covered at 100% when you visit your doctor to complete the Qualification Form.
Physicians see patients with many different medical plans. They may not be familiar with what each plan covers. It is your responsibility to know what your plan covers. If you have questions about your coverage, please feel free to stop by the Benefits Office in Wilson Hall.

|Embracing Organizational Change|
It is normal to struggle when changes occur, but the proper coping methods can help you not only survive organizational change, but empower you to take control of your career, recognize new opportunities that come with the change, and propel your career forward.
This course covers best practices to help you accepting a new reality when things change, including acknowledgement of the changes and coming to terms with your new reality. This course also introduces the idea of reframing as a coping method for accepting organizational change. Finally, this course covers the importance of recognizing and capitalizing on the career opportunities presented by organizational change, including the importance of a career plan. NEW! Employee Wellness Incentive Program!
At the start of the Fall 2013 semester, a new employee wellness incentive program will be launched called 'Be Well Points+.' This program will allow employees to earn points when they participate in certain wellness programming. You will then be able to look at a list of incentives and turn in your points for the incentive(s) of your choice! You must enroll in Be Well Points+ in order to be eligible to earn points. This program is open to any Oakland University employee. More information coming soon on the Campus Recreation website! Enrollment will open in August.
Join us for Summer Fest, Thursday, August 15th from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Summer Fest is a fun, social event for all OU employees to attend! This event will take place outside in front of the Rec Center (weather permitting).
