Performance Management Process - End of Cycle
Monday March 31, marks the end of the current performance cycle for non-bargained employee groups. As such, employees in these groups should start preparing end-of-cycle comments highlighting their work performance and identifying the goals they've attained in 2013-14. As Monday, April 1, marks the beginning of the 2014-15 performance cycle, employees should also outline goals for the coming year. PLEASE NOTE: Goals for the new cycle should not be entered in the current TEAMS system. A system upgrade will take place in the near future. New evaluations will not be transferred to the new system. Employees and supervisors are asked to set the goals and retain them in a word processing document. Once the new system is in place, training will be offered and employees will be asked to enter the goals into the system for the new performance cycle.

This review process has a solid, positive impact on individual and university success because it promotes a positive understanding between employees and supervisors regarding acceptable job performance. The Performance Management Process is facilitated with the use of the TEAMS – the Total Employee and Management Source online system located at https://jobs.oakland.edu/hr.

The Performance Management section of the UHR website has been updated to reflect the new timeline. For employees who are new to this process or who would like a refresher course on the current system, training will be scheduled for later in April. Those interested should watch the UHR Training site for details.

Please welcome all of the new employees that have joined us in March, 2014!

Developing Strategic Peer Relationships in Your Organization
Cultivating relationships with your work peers can lead to success for you as an individual and for your organization as a whole. Developing a supportive peer network can provide you with access to a wide variety of expertise and institutional knowledge and it enables you to leverage other people's networks. Because every workplace has its own dynamic, you need to develop a better awareness of your environment. This course explores how you can identify the peers in your organization who are especially important in meeting your goals and it shows you how to develop solid, mutually beneficial relationships with these people.
