Macomb-OU INCubator clients win entrepreneurial support from MEDC
Sterling Heights, Mich. – With the aid of the Macomb-OU INCubator, two of its client companies have received $50,000 Michigan Pre-Seed Microloans from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation.
2 of 10, LLC, a Michigan company founded in 2009 by Brandon Trevino, will use microloan funding for initial production and launch of its new Constant Companion concealed weapons clothing line. Funding will also support inventory production, e-commerce, third-party logistics, marketing, legal considerations, and working capital and product line extension.
The company's proprietary designs will allow individuals in the homeland security, defense and professional law enforcement markets to comfortably conceal department-issued duty weapons, yet maintain rapid access to them.
"We were impressed with Brandon Trevino, his strong military background and unique start-up business model from the first day we met with him," said Mike Brennan, Macomb-OU INCubator's business commercialization and capital investment advisor.
"We look forward to assisting Brandon in his continued efforts to develop and grow his company, including his next round of funding as needed."
Green Flag Credit, LLC, will use microloan funding to advance its B2B internet technology service platform, Green Flag 2.0, as well as Green Flag Credit, which advances and accelerates online digital marketing capabilities for retailing motor vehicles.
Green Flag 2.0 addresses and solves issues related to tracking metrics on car dealership websites, so dealers can convert visitors to actual sales. While prospective customers look to obtain answers to key purchase questions, the Green Flag Credit system stores related data so that dealership representatives can follow up to assist with the actual trade-in appraisal, sale and delivery process.
"Green Flag's software is a very unique, cost-effective marketing tool for dealers to get measurable results from their websites and existing traffic," Brennan said.
"It was a pleasure to work with Green Flag President Chuck Wood in assembling his application. We're thrilled we could help him to get the initial funding and look forward to assisting Green Flag further as the company grows."
The Michigan Pre-Seed Capital Fund Microloan Program was formed for Michigan's SmartZones to support high-tech high-growth start-up companies as they near viability. The focus is on technologies in advanced automotive, manufacturing and materials; alternative energy; homeland security and defense; and life sciences.
