Scholarship profile: Sandra Evans loyal to OU as she racks up degrees
For Sandra Evans, SON '04, one degree from Oakland University just wasn’t enough. She recently won the 2006 Returning Alumni Scholarship, a $3,000 award that will help her as she pursues her second OU degree — a master of science in nursing (MSN). Full Story...

Alumni profile: Beverly Benson Wolf translates life
into art

Beverly Benson Wolf, CAS '73, always knew she wanted to be an artist, and part of her always has been. But, until recently, her art has happened on the fringes of a life that has included raising two toddlers while going to college, driving a patrol car in Moscow, and breaking boundaries as one of only a handful of women in law enforcement. Now an award-winning photographer, Wolf credits her art with “taking her headache away,” both literally and figuratively. Full Story...

Membership appreciation event
The Oakland University Alumni Association invites you and your guests to join fellow OUAA members as the men’s basketball team takes on the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee on Saturday, December 2, 2006. Game time is 4 p.m. at the O’rena. The cost for the event is $10 and includes your game ticket, Cub Cash food coupons and an OU gift. Full Story...

California alumni gathering – OU vs.UCLA
The Oakland University Alumni Association invites you and your guests to join OU alumni, staff, and friends as the Oakland University men’s basketball team takes on the UCLA Bruins on Saturday, December 16, 2006, in Los Angeles. 12th annual Alumni Awards Banquet results
The 12th annual Alumni Awards Banquet was held on Saturday, November 4, in the Oakland Center Banquet Rooms. The event was well-attended, and guests were again treated to inspirational stories and reflections on life at OU as each recipient accepted his or her award. Full Story...

Second annual Family Festival quadruples attendance
More than 800 people participated in the second annual OUAA Alumni and Friends Family Festival on October 14 — over four times the number who came out for the first event held last year. This year’s event capped the Week of Champions at OU, Oakland’s version of homecoming, and took on a fall theme. “It turned out to be a great fall day,” said Erin Sudrovech, assistant director of Alumni Relations. Full Story...

Mark your calendars for the OUAA’s 50th anniversary celebration
Join the OUAA in celebrating Oakland University’s 50th anniversary on Saturday, February 24, 2007! Our annual Alumni Night at the O’rena event will take on a special 50th anniversary flair as alumni, friends, faculty, staff and their families are invited to cheer the men’s and women’s basketball teams and attend a special dinner reception. Full Story...

Meadow Brook Hall Holiday Walk begins Nov. 24
Experience “The Sounds of the Season” during Meadow Brook Hall’s annual Holiday Walk, which runs Nov. 24 through Dec. 22. The 100-room, Tudor-revival style mansion will be decorated for the holidays and items from special collections will be on display. Daily tours will be available with several special events providing a unique way to get into the holiday spirit. Full Story...

Three-point challenge benefits Kresge Library
In basketball, the three-pointer can help teams win games, but at OU, not only will the shots help the players in the game, but also Kresge Library. Score Three for Kresge is a sponsorship program that will help support the vital resources at the library. Men’s head basketball coach Greg Kampe, who is sponsoring the first two basketball games, invites others to join him in supporting the library. Full Story...
