AFRICAN AMERICAN CELEBRATION MONTH 2013

Join us as we celebrate My Family, My Community, Ujima through the many outstanding events during African American Celebration 2013.   

African American Celebration 2013 begins Monday, January 21 with the Keeper of the Dream Award Celebration at 11:30 am in the Banquet Rooms, Oakland Center. The month long celebration concludes on Thursday, February 14 at 12:00 p.m. with a Poetry Hour in the Fireside Lounge.

LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES!

Become an OU Student Leader! We are looking for students who want to be leaders and representatives of Oakland University! Attend an information session to learn how to become a CMI Peer Mentor or Orientation Group Leader (OGL). The application deadline is Monday, January 28 by 5:00 p.m. so don't wait!

Our final information session will take place on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 from 12-1pm in the Oakland Room, Oakland Center.

It is time to begin the selection process for the 2013 Matilda R. Wilson/Alfred G. Wilson and Human Relations Award!  The Wilson Awards were established in 1965 and recognize one female and one male graduating senior who have contributed as scholars, leaders, and responsible citizens to the Oakland University Community. For more information or to access the nomination forms, visit http://www.oakland.edu/dean_awards. All nominations must be returned by Monday, February 4, 2013, to the Dean of Students Office, 144 Oakland Center.
