Financial planning expert to share tips on investing, retirement

Sterling Heights, Mich. – The Macomb-OU INCubator is inviting business leaders to attend the next Lunch & Launch event on Thursday, May 23, to learn leading financial management concepts from an expert who has adopted calculated risk and risk management as a way of life.

Satish Dharwadkar, founder, president and portfolio manager of MangoTree Capital, will conduct a presentation titled "Optimize Your Corporate Payroll, Working Capital and Retirement Plans." Whether a part of established businesses or startups, participating professionals will gain new ideas for investments and retirement plans, as well as how quantitative models can be used from everyday life to investments.

Dharwadkar's first introduction to risk management came by way of boarding a one-way flight from tropical India to blizzard-struck Boston with only thirty dollars, one suit case and first semester's check to pursue a graduate degree. Today, he applies this pursuit of meaningful risk-adjusted returns for business, career and investments.

Dharwadkar worked as a senior financial advisor at Merrill Lynch, as an independent trader, an account manager, a systems engineer and as a senior engineer at companies such as EDS, Parametric Technology and Ingersoll-Rand. His scientific programming skills in CFD and CAD contributed to the development of quantitative models for investments.

This free lecture, set for noon to 1 p.m. at the Macomb-OU INCubator, will include a question and answer period. The event is sponsored, with a complimentary lunch, by MangoTree Capital. Attendees should note that there is no guarantee that future performance of any specific investment or investment strategy will be profitable or equal to past performance levels.

The incubator is located in the Velocity building at 6633 Eighteen Mile Road in Sterling Heights. Those interested in attending the lecture are asked to register in advance by contacting Joan Carleton at (586) 884-9324 or e-mailing to macINC@oakland.edu.
