Poetry Slam Join us for a poetry slam on Thursday, November 1, at 7 p.m. on the 4th floor of the library. Sponsored by Kresge Library, in collaboration with Auburn Hills Public Library, we invite students, faculty, staff and members of the surrounding communities to join us in this performance-based literary art form. This event is an "open mike" format; beginners are encouraged to come! Food and refreshments will be served. There will be a $100 gift card prize for the winner, and a $50 gift card for the runner-up. For more information, contact Anne Switzer at switzer2@oakland.edu.
Lit to Film Book Club announces new lineup The OUAA Lit to Film Book Club has begun its 2007-08 season with a viewing and discussion Tuesday, September 4, of "The Painted Veil" by W. Authors at OU Redux: A Celebration of the Journal In many fields of knowledge, the journal article is the lifeblood of the scholarship in the discipline. We at Kresge Library recognized that many faculty at Oakland University publish their research and scholarship via the journal article, and so, on March 22, 2007, we devoted our second Authors at Oakland event to "A Celebration of the Journal." Making a Difference at Kresge Library Each year, more alumni, faculty, staff and friends of Oakland University decide to make a difference by supporting Kresge Library. Just last year, almost 200 donors made commitments of more than $60,000. This includes gifts of individual books, videos and sound recordings as well as entire collections, cash donations, pledges and planned gifts. Full Story...
