Kym Worthy, Wayne County Prosecutor, to Speak

On Thursday, February 5, 2009, at 12 noon, on the 4th Floor of Kresge Library, Kym Worthy will speak on the topic of "Economic and Spiritual Recovery in a Post-Kilpatrick Detroit." In her current position as Wayne County Prosecutor, she has handled many high-profile cases, none higher-profile than the recent prosecution of Kwame Kilpatrick, former mayor of Detroit. As part of Oakland University's African History Celebration Month 2009, Kresge Library is proud to host Ms. Worthy's appearance.

Poetry Readings
In order to bring poetry off the page and to an audience, Kresge Library began holding monthly poetry readings (generally, the first Thursday of each month) in our Student Lounge. These events are a relaxed and informal setting where attendees can read their own work or poems or poems by other authors, or just sit back and enjoy the experience of listening.
