The Macomb-OU INCubator is offering a new program this fall for startups and entrepreneurs looking to implement Lean.
Startup Lean is designed to help startups base their businesses on Lean principles. This program will teach ways to incorporate Lean practices from the beginning and use these practices as building blocks toward growth.

New Lean course - ISE 581: Lean Principles & Application

Oakland University’s Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE) Department, in conjunction with the Pawley Lean Institute, is offering a course on Lean Principles and Application. ISE 581: Lean Principles & Application will be offered this fall for any engineers seeking to broaden their knowledge and skills in Lean concepts and their application. Taught by a Lean expert with years of industrial experience, the course will cover Lean theory, rules and principles, concepts, tools and supporting systems from the perspective of an engineer. No prior knowledge in Lean is required to enroll.

Crittenton partners with OU for Lean senior design projects

Crittenton Hospital Medical Center has partnered with Oakland University for another round of Lean projects.
Six of Professor Bob Van Til’s Industrial Systems and Engineering students have worked with Crittenton as part of their senior design projects. For the semester-long project, students worked in the Emergency Department, working to find more efficient ways of operating.

New class HRD 344: Lean Kaizen in Organizations now offered Winter 2013

Oakland University’s School of Education and Human Services is offering a new Lean course in the winter 2013 semester, as part of the Human Resource Development Department.
The class, HRD 344: Lean Kaizen in Organizations, was developed by Mark Doman, OU professor in Lean studies and special instructor for HRD, as part of a Pawley Institute Fellowship he received last year.
