Tuesday, February 25, 2014 - February 2014 Newsletter: Client Company Spotlight: Microcide Inc
The Macomb-OU INCubator is pleased to welcome their newest on-site client company! Microcide Inc. is a Michigan-based technology company, dedicated to the research, development and commercialization of antimicrobial products for households, personal care, health care and food industries. These patented no-rinse surface-sanitizing products are non-toxic, environmentally friendly, EPA and USDA approved, and effective against antibiotic-resistant microorganisms. In addition, they can replace presently available carcinogens generating chlorinated, toxic and/or free radical-producing oxidizing agents, as well as cholinesterase-inhibiting quaternary ammonium-based products.

Microcide’s extensive research has uncovered hidden germ-killing properties of safe, non-toxic and biodegradable chemical ingredients. The use of products made with these ingredients can eliminate direct and indirect harmful effects caused by antimicrobial agents including chlorine, chlorine dioxide, chlorinated products, phenols, cresol, heavy metals, certain quaternary ammonium compounds and other toxic chemical agents on health and environment.

Microcide products include non-alcoholic mouthwash, mouthwash for kids, fruit and vegetable sanitizers, and sanitizing triclosan-free liquid hand, and sydnet bar, soaps. Microcide has research collaboration on USDA and NASA projects at Ohio State and Iowa State Universities, was nominated for the Presidential GREEN Chemistry Award by the EPA in 2005, and both the US NAVY and NASA have selected Microcide sanitizing products.

“When everything positive comes together, a lot of progress happens,” John Lopes, President of Microcide, says.

“Microcide, with its safe and effective products, can be empowered by Mac-OU INC’s multiple marketing, organizational, accounting, funding and legal resources, among others. With these resources, Microcide business has potential to explode.”
