OUWB Diversity & Inclusion held its annual Underrepresented in Medicine Pre-Med Students luncheon for Oakland University undergraduate students on Tuesday, March 30, in O'Dowd Hall. The free event gave aspiring pre-med students the opportunity to network with each other as well as talk with current medical students about their hopes and expectations for becoming physicians. The medical student panelists, Jeniffer Okungbowa-Ikponm, Raefella Genova, Evan Palamara, and Craig Profant, shared timely advice on their experiences with the application process and an understanding of medical school. Christina Grabowski, Ph.D., assistant dean of Medical Student Admissions, and Thomas Guerrero, M.D., Ph.D., assistant dean of Diversity & Inclusion, also addressed the group, sharing their insight and offering advice pertaining to applications and medical school admissions.
